Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement explains how WorldTrade IQ ("we") handles personal data when you use WorldTrade IQ® (the "Service"). We act as the data controller for account and usage data.

1. Data we collect

Account data: name, email, company and role. Authentication data: securely hashed passwords (we never store plain-text passwords). Usage data: queries, saved searches, reports, alerts, credit transactions and audit events. Technical data: IP address, device/browser information and logs for security and performance.

2. How we use it

To provide and secure the Service, authenticate you, meter credits and billing, generate the reports and alerts you request, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations. Our lawful bases include performance of a contract, legitimate interests (security, service improvement) and consent where required.

3. Trade data and third parties

Trade statistics come from third-party sources (e.g. UN Comtrade). Aggregate trade figures are not personal data about you. Where a licensed source contains company or party details, we process them only as that source's licence permits, apply data minimisation, and do not expose personal home addresses or unnecessary contact data.

4. AI processing

The AI Trade Analyst interprets your question and summarises results. We do not send licensed source records to an AI provider unless the source contract permits it, and we prefer aggregates/summaries. We do not use your queries to train third-party models unless you explicitly opt in.

5. Sharing and processors

We use vetted processors for hosting, payments (Stripe) and email. They act on our instructions under appropriate contracts. We do not sell your personal data.

6. Retention and security

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as required for legal, tax and audit purposes, then delete or anonymise it. We apply encryption in transit, access controls, tenant isolation and audit logging.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including UK GDPR), you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal data, and may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO). To exercise your rights, contact info@worldtradeiq.com.
